Holly Szafran is an attorney at our Birmingham, Alabama Blue Lake office, where she represents plaintiffs in all types of personal injury cases. A dedicated advocate for the injured, she strives to protect her clients’ rights against the interests of large and powerful insurance companies. Her kind yet aggressive approach has gained the respect of her clients and has helped her secure numerous favorable results on their behalf.
Ms. Szafran was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and relocated to Boston, Massachusetts. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Brandeis University, where she captained the women’s soccer team to three NCAA appearances. After receiving her B.A. in Health Policy with a minor in legal studies from Brandeis, Ms. Szafran moved to Birmingham, Alabama to be with family and to attend law school. She received her J.D. from Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.
Ms. Szafran is a sociable person who creates strong personal connections with clients and other attorneys. Combined with her legal knowledge, this quality often helps her obtain successful outcomes in highly complex cases. She strives to let her clients know they have an attorney to whom they can voice their wants and needs and who has their best interests in mind. She was initially drawn to the practice of law after being present at the Boston marathon bombing in 2013 and becoming fixated on how she could help victims of tragedies seek justice through the legal system.
Ms. Szafran is admitted to the Alabama State Bar, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. She is a member of the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section and the Women’s Section.
When she is not working, Ms. Szafran enjoys weekend beach trips with friends, going to the gym, baking with her mom, trying new coffee shops with her younger sister, going to the range with her younger brother, and going on hikes with her German shepherd, Dante. Ms. Szafran is also an active parishioner of Our Lady of Sorrow Catholic Church in Homewood, Alabama.
