Stephanie Swerling

Attorney

Stephanie Swerling is an associate attorney at the Mike Slocumb Law Firm in Washington, D.C. where she focuses her practice on personal injury litigation, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, and premises liability matters.

Ms. Swerling was born and raised in Columbia, South Carolina. After completing her bachelor’s degree in communications at the University of Georgia, Stephanie moved to D.C. for graduate school, where she earned a master’s degree in American history from the George Washington University. After working in the media industry for over ten years, primarily with Discovery Communications, Stephanie left her television career to embark upon the practice of law.

For Ms. Swerling, the pursuit of justice is not just a day job, it’s a family affair. As the daughter and sister of distinguished attorneys, Stephanie had a front row seat to the practice of law her entire life. Her father’s storied career has not only been a source of pride, but also one of inspiration. From an early age, he instilled how access to competent representation and equal treatment under the law are fundamental to American jurisprudence.

While pursuing her Juris Doctorate at The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law, Stephanie participated in the Immigration and Refugee Advocacy Clinic as a student attorney and earned a certificate in intellectual property law from the Law and Technology Institute. After passing the Maryland bar exam, Stephanie decided to follow in her brother’s footsteps specializing in personal injury.

Ms. Swerling prioritizes building strong client relationships through trust, honesty, and compassion. As a tireless advocate for her clients’ interests and their right to fair compensation, she holds herself to the highest ethical standards.

Stephanie is passionate about music, politics, film, and her beloved Georgia Bulldogs. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her two rescue bunnies, Gracie and Betty.
